SLC Airport to Solitude
Solitude is partway up Big Cottonwood, and once you are in the village you do not need a car for the rest of the week. Getting there is the only transport problem worth solving, so we solve that one properly.
Dropped in the village
Set down at the building you are staying in, with the bags out of the back, rather than left at a lot to work out which way is up with an armful of skis.
Leave the car out of it
Nothing to reserve, nothing to pay for, nothing to dig out on the last morning. If you are staying up there for the week, the car was only ever going to sit still anyway.
The canyon in any weather
4WD on winter tires all season, so a traction restriction on the canyon is something we already meet. The tires are what keeps us compliant and moving.
We watch the road that morning
Avalanche control shuts Big Cottonwood without much notice. We check the road report on the morning of your ride and call you if the timing has to move.
Your gear comes free
Skis, boards and boot bags are part of the fare rather than a line on the bill. Five passengers with ski gear in the full-size SUV, six with regular bags.
Never a shared ride
No other parties, no extra stops, and no standing at the terminal waiting on a van to fill. Your driver is yours for the trip.

Rates start here and rise with the time of day and any extras. Airport fees are in the price. A day trip to a mountain you are not staying at, and the 14 passenger van, are both quoted per trip.

Where we drop off at Solitude
Private condos and rentals in the canyon as well. Give us the building and the unit when you reserve and we will note it — up there that is more use than a pin on a map.
The drive
Down the valley to the mouth of Big Cottonwood, then up the canyon to the village. How long it takes depends on the hour, the weather and the traffic at the mouth, so rather than print a number that may not hold, the reservation system shows the estimated drive time on your quote — before you book.
After a big overnight storm the canyon backs up long before the lifts turn, and we will suggest an earlier pickup rather than let you sit in it.

How much is a ride from Salt Lake City Airport to Solitude?
Starting at $200 in the full-size SUV, either direction. Rates start there and rise with the time of day and any extras — so we quote you a price before you book, and that price does not change afterwards. Airport fees are in the price.
If we are staying in the village, do we need a car at all?
Most parties who stay up there decide they do not. We bring you up and collect you at the end, and anything in between — a day at another mountain, dinner down the canyon — can be reserved as its own trip or as an hourly charter, three hour minimum.
What happens if there is a traction restriction on Big Cottonwood?
Nothing changes for you. Our vehicles run 4WD with winter tires all season, which is what the restriction is asking for, so we are compliant before it is posted.
Do skis and snowboards cost extra?
No. Skis, boards and boot bags are part of the fare. Five passengers travel comfortably with ski gear in the full-size SUV, six with regular bags. For a larger group there is a 14 passenger van, quoted per trip rather than priced off a list.
Where do we meet you at the airport?
Curbside as standard. Your driver confirms with you the day before, then meets you at the first curb outside between columns 5A and 6A. If you would rather be met inside baggage claim, meet and greet costs $40.
How far ahead should I reserve?
As early as you can. The further ahead we know about a trip, the better we can plan the day around it — and holiday weeks and the busiest stretches of January go first. Twenty-four hours still works for most trips, and we take later ones by phone.
